EDMOND WONG - ARCHITECT

Edmond received a Master of Architecture degree from CUHK where he obtained CUAAA Travel Scholarship to study the residential buildings in the Netherlands. He is an architect and designer born and raised in Hong Kong. The city's diversity and dynamism always inspire the cross disciplinary practice of Edmond Wong Studio in architecture, interior, products and public art. He also gained international exposure by practicing in renowned studios in Tokyo and New York.

Edmond's interdisciplinary practices often result in design hybrids that are beyond conventional categorization and scale, providing new spatial and user experiences through critical thinking and novel response to contemporary lifestyle, local cultural, materials and technology.

As an architecture undergraduate, his concept computer and notebook designs entered finalists in Microsoft Next Generation PC Design Competition and MUJI Award 02 respectively. In his master years, he won champion in "Harmonized Neighborhood- Sustainable Building Design Competition. In 2015, Edmond garners Hong Kong Young Design Talent Award and "40 under 40" by Perspective magazine. He is known for large scale public art installations such as “Soundscape” and "Hall of Fame", obtaining Design for Asia Award Gold Award 2014 and winning RIBA SHOP! 2014 Competition. His own brand, ITUM, applies cutting-edge 3D printing technologies in eyewear to offer a choice of size in glasses and thus increases wearing comfort.
