SPARKLE & SANRIO-KUROMI
The Japanese anime guru Sanrio designs and produces products focusing on the kawaii ("cute") segment of Japanese popular culture, and is one of the most successful marketing brands in the world. Sanrio's best-known characters include Hello Kitty, My Melody and Kuromi.
Kuromi, one of Sanrio’s most popular anime characters, is a white rabbit or imp-like creature wearing a black jester's hat with a pink skull on the front and a black devil's tail. Although she possess a naughty punk tomboy quality with subtle hints of the Japanese "bosozoku" youth subculture, Kuromi is actually a very girly and playful free-spirit, and like SPARKLE, Kuromi’s favorite colors are black and hot pink!
This year, Sparkle crossovers with Sanrio to create cartoon-themed cheongsams and Tang jackets portraying the cute, playful and a bit mischievous Kuromi. Featuring Kuromi in colorful neon lights against a deep purple background, this pattern brings out the inner child in every woman, and proves that cheongsam while being elegant and feminine, can be cute and playful too!
